It is with great pleasure that
SKATING magazine endorses the nomination of Sue Susic Ervin to the
Wisconsin Sports Hall of Fame. |
|
|
|
During my time as editor of SKATING,
I have met many people like Ervin who have given countless unselfish hours
to the sport of figure skating. Each of those people is unique and they
all add their own special touch to figure skating. Ervin is obviously no
exception. |
|
|
|
As a coach, Ervin is in a position to
inspire and educate scores of young girls and boys, and men and women as
well. It is clear that she has been successful in that
endeavor. |
|
|
|
In the world of big-time professional
sports and skyrocketing salaries, people like Ervin, who work with
never-ending enthusiasm and little thought of reward, are often lost in
the mix. But to the lives they have touched --
in this case, the lives of so many Wisconsin skaters, they are the best
kind of heroes. |
|
|
|
I hope you consider the positive
impact she has had on the lives of Wisconsin youths as you make your
selections for the Hall of Fame. Ervin is truly a worthy
nominee. |
