I’m excited to hear of your nomination for induction into the Wisconsin Sports Hall of Fame You never hit a home run for the Brewers or scored a touchdown for the Packers but it’s your kind of dedication to athletes that a spot in the Hall of Fame is certainly all about.

It’s been a long time since we’ve crossed paths, but even though I left Milwaukee 11 years ago I’ve been able to keep up with your career and your accomplishments in Madison. I remember well your work with Kelly Ann Szmurlo and so many other skaters through the years-- and it’s been great following the skaters you bring to Madison for competitions with the Figure Skating Club of Madison

As a father of two children (with a third on the way), my wife and I know the importance of good coaches in athletics-- not just to help athletes gain medals or trophies but to prepare them for the competitions of life and now to deal with success
and adversity. These are the lessons you’ve been giving your skaters for a very long time, and that’s invaluable.

You don’t demand recognition for yourself or your accomplishments, but it’s time you receive one of the highest honors a sports person can receive in our state.

Good luck in your nomination— we all look forward to your
induction into the Wisconsin Sports Hall of Fame.
