Re: Nomination - Figure Skating Coach Sue Susic Ervin

To Whom it May Concern:

It is my understanding that figure skating coach, Sue Susic Ervin is being considered for nomination to the Wisconsin Sports Hall of Fame. As I am a former skating student of hers and now a professional figure skater. I have a few words I would like to say about Sue Susic Ervin. I began to take lessons from Sue at age fourteen years old, when of course all teenagers are vulnerable at that age. Sue always gave me her undivided attention when my lesson was in session. At that time in my life I needed someone who would pay attention to me, improve my technical jumping skills, and keep my confidence level up. Both in figure skating and off the ice, since my parents just went through a divorce. My overall jumping skills improved tremendously. Since I left my hometown, Milwaukee, Wisconsin to start traveling with ICE CAPADES, I did come back for awhile to take some extra lessons as a professional from Sue. As the saying goes “you
can teach old dogs new tricks.” Sue taught me that valuable lesson in more ways than one. Also for as long as I can remember she has been a friend of the family.

And as far as Milwaukee and the entire State of Wisconsin goes - you have had the best figure skating technician coach for years right underneath your noses.

(I am currently still traveling around as a professional figure skater the last 14 years of my life and I certainly would not change anything I have done so far with my career. I love it.)
